Hey Brew, how'd you like the blog

I assume Brew just accidentally found my blog since one of this morning's search results was

WWE - test entrance music.mp3

Aside from the new torrent searches, my favorite searches leading to the blog are:

how to fix country style ribs on the grill
"The brot
mike matthews yoga
"ten seconds of awkwardness" with Mr. T
wwf old coliseum vhs videos
evanston illinois condo blog
wisconsin woodchucks jen
Happy Birthday.mp3
"The Kissers" accordian

And I'm still frightened by someone searching for "Sara Dreiling Chicago"...That's still a little too close to home.

Hey Muggs, they worked

By the way, adding the word torrent to my blog has made my hit counts jump, finally. My hits more than doubled since putting it there, and more than half of those are for either torrents, or A Decade Under the Influence which still continues to be a major search engine hit for me, when I still haven't seen it, it's just on there from posting my Netflix Queue. Speaking of Netflix, I hate when I forget to put movies in the mail for like 5 days. It's days like that, I miss having a mailbox right in front of the house, as opposed to either finding a mailbox drop while out and about or taking it to work, because if you forget them on Thursday, then have Friday off, and never take them to be mailed until Monday, that's like a whole week of Netflixing down the drain. (especially since the movies were watched last weekend then we forgot to put them in the envelopes to be mailed, which means I just forgot them there, thus meaning more than a week, jeez I'm dumb) Heck on top of it the third movie that I haven't taken care of, is a UFC disc, that I mainly want to record and have available for trading, more than to actually watch it. And that hasn't happened yet either. I also have actual trades to take care of, so I can't use the VCR for that. So all in all I'm pretty stupid, and wasting most of my $21+ for the month of June.

Non-sensical rambling over.

Dad came but I still got to do some stuff.

Thursday: After work I drive out to Elgin to my mom's house Dad is there, and I'm picking him up from there to bring him to my house for some repairs over the weekend. I get there and he's done working on Mom's toilet so we go out to Applebees for some dinner of which I picked up the bill and proclaimed as his birthday dinner. We decide to leave in the morning since Dad is tired (and I was doing lots of laundry) Mom and I stayed up really late playing poker and listening to Mitch Hedburg and Steven Wright CDs.

Friday: Take Dad to my house, along the way picking up food and drinks for him to enjoy while he was over. Then we get to working on some of the things we were going to do. We got wood filler and putty put up into all the cabinets. We also got started on the replacement of the faucet for a working diverter valve in the shower. That went great, but somewhere along the way a leak formed in the cartridge inside the on/off/hot/cold knob of the shower. So we tried and tried to take out the old cartridge that was rusted and corroded and stuck in there. After multiple applications of CLR the cartridge it still wasn't coming out and we gave up and decided to just keep applying CLR as often as possible between then and the next day. So even with that part leaking we were able to get showers in (everything worked except there was also the leak) and headed out for some Thai buffet with Sara, as I got that one for his Father's Day dinner.

Saturday: Fiddled and putzed around with getting the cartridge out. Put the cabinet doors back on. Then finally I got the cartridge out. Got that replaced and all was good in the world. So 5-6 trips to Home Depot and Lowes. And almost everything on the list has been taken care of, except closet doors. We decided inside a condo isn't the best place for staining so Dad's picking those up by his house and staining and urathaning (Yeah I know how to spell that kinda stuff HA) Took Dad back to Elgin. Unfortunately later than we thought, so Sara didn't get to have dinner with my parents, as Mom was already in bed.

Sunday: Since we got Dad back to Elgin in time (unfortunately his phone decided to stay in my car, I was able to go to the Pride Parade. Wasn't as fun as past years. We were pretty much at the end of the parade route. Diversy and Broadway. So most vendors were out of their goodies, although I did get five magnets. YAY for Magnets, my fridge loves them. After the parade, we walked around a bit, and didn't go to any bars or anything which was a touch sad, we saw the impending rain, and got on a train up to Keith and Mike's house. It never did rain though. We grilled up some burgers and hot dogs. Sara and Heather had a few Vodka Lemonades. I had a headache and was pretty sore from a good hardworking/playing weekend, so I just kicked back and relaxed and enjoyed the afternoon. It was really calm and nice. Then went with Sara to meet up with Dina and a friend of theirs from school at Nevin's. I was dead tired to the world though, and really just kinda sat there too.

Monday: Back to work for my first full week of work in 4 weeks due to taking Friday off, and having doctors appointments the prior two weeks. Good thing next week's a four day workweek. I might not be able to handle it.

Crossposting

OK my Dad is coming out and from Thursday to Sunday we're gonna be celebrating Father's Day and working on things in my condo and that sort. I wish I would have realized sooner what all is going on during this time, because I'm missing so much this weekend.

Thursday: Prince at Summerfest
Sunday: Pride Parade.

But worst of all here is the clincher.

Friday: Rick James and MORRIS DAY AND THE MUTHAFUCKIN TIME.

Why did I choose this weekend.

Also I forgot to cross-post this from the LJ
It's a picture of me that I attempted to make using some illustrator program
Here

Here's how you get there to make your own.

Well other than that show there was a weekend too.

Friday we went to Bliss (well it's spelled some fancy way, but that's essentially what it is) which is a bar a few blocks from my office to go to a 21st birthday part for Ryan, who works with Sara and her sister at the pool they run in the summers. It was a trendy place with lots of pretty people there. Apparently his brother works there. His parents were there, along with his brother and then the five of us (me & Sara, Heather & Brian, and Dina) That was really odd, but it was all we could drink, and they kept bringing food, so a good time was had by us.

Saturday Sara and I run to to the Market to get some Veggies to take for father's day. We also got $1.50 Jimmy John Sandwiches since it was that store's 2nd anniversary. Nothing else really except the IWA show and that's talked about two posts down.

Sunday was Father's Day. I didn't do anything with my Dad since He's coming to stay with me later this week. So I head with Sara on over to Keith & Mike's for her Father's day over there. There was much grilling on their new grill. There was much sledgehammery breaking down the wooden play area that was in the back yard when they bought the place. There was lots of Veggies eaten out of the yummy vegi's she prepared for snacking. There was also much Slobbering as this is the first time I've seen Heather and Brian's dog Mikkle since he got sick. Aparently he ate something that reacted funny and inflammed his esophogus to the point that food wouldn't go down. He got lots of sick and a few doctor visits later he's able to eat, and have it get down to his stomach, but alas he's an extrememly slobbery dog. Often with 4 inch drips hanging off both sides of his mouth.

Monday finally took the first half of the clothes I'm donating to the Salvation Army. The next half goes tomorrow. Raw was a bit off. With Eugene not blending well with HHH, and the DEMON SEED storyline progressing. With the big groaning moment of Lita saying "Well, it might be yours" In reference to the baby in her belly which is really the DEMON SEED. This is the kind of stuff that makes one embarassed to be a wrestling fan. But actually watching it while chatting with the ITVR guys makes it fun. Much like how Seinfeld says watching Plan 9. It's only worth it if you have someone to make fun of it with.

Thursday Dad'll be coming to my house to help with some home repairs. Should be good to get some things done. Even if I wanted him to come do this years ago and be able to live in a place with a properly working bathtub. But oh well, I guess it's good to do two months before selling.

If I can whine for a sec

Hi, I'm Sean Swift and I turned the comments on my blog off. This makes me a big loser in everyones eyes. I know that one Mr. Ken is quite displeased about this. He occassionally likes to comment on my blog, but cannont for I have turned my comments off. Maybe one day I'll turn my comments back on, and he and everyone else will be happy again.

IWA-MS 06/19/04 "A Butcher Loose in Highland"

Hey ya’ll, it’s the usual gimmick, I steal results from someone (this time the IWA-MS official results) and give some of my own comments. Weeeeeeeee here we go.

Courtesy of the IWA website:
FULL RESULTS - 6/19 HIGHLAND, IN "A BUTCHER LOOSE IN HIGHLAND"

IWA Mid-South Wrestling, in association with NWA Midwest, presented "A Butcher Loose In Highland" on Saturday night, June 19th at the Lincoln Center in Highland, Indiana. Here's what went down...

Before the show we did a little gathering of fans BBQ type thing in the park next to the Lincoln Center. Small turnout but it was nice. Good times. It should be a continuing trend before the shows. I probably had one too many Strongbow English Dry Ciders before the show, so the first couple matches may be remembered a little more fondly than they should.

1. "The Wildcards" EDDIE KINGSTON & BLACK JACK MARCIANO def. "The All-Stars" CHANDLER McCLURE & BRYCE BENJAMIN in the opening match of the night.

The All Stars are local regulars, they’re a fun crew that might be a little too “sports entertainment” for IWA shows. They had worked the MSPW show earlier that afternoon. Both Wildcards spit while they were talking, which sucked for me because both of them got up in my face heeling it up. The fans are starting to notice how good they are at heeling and are starting to cheer them a bit. They might need to do something dastardly pretty soon to keep their heel image going. When Joey “One Man Orgy” Eastman tried to introduce The Wildcards, Kingston got the mic and talked about how they hadn’t won yet in Highland, but were “Mad over in Milwaukee” and then introduced the team in good old Cornette style. Decent little match that helped The Wildcards get their first win in Highland.

"Anarchist" ARIK CANNON came out to the ring and began to criticize CHRIS HERO for his "complaining" about Hero's losing streak in Highland (Hero hasn't won a match at the Lincoln Center since November 2003). Cannon made specific reference to Hero letting his emotions get the best of him after losing to Samoa Joe on 5/29. Concerning the comparisons many make between Hero and himself, Cannon "corrected" those comparisons by stating that he is the better wrestler of the two, because, unlike Hero, he does whatever it takes to score wins in IWA. Mid speech, Hero approached the ring and dropped Cannon on his head with a suplex, and told him to back up his claims in a match with him later in the night.

Highland fans have become notorious for being extremely anti-Chris Hero (I’m not one of them.) I think it’s that most of them don’t know the history of Chris Hero with IWA and the IWA hasn’t really let the Highland fans know that. I think they figured that most of us knew of his greatness, and his legend would follow. Well that didn’t so much happen. What the average Highalnd fan knows is the guy won a match in November, lost a loser leaves town match in December, goes away for a bit, comes back heralded by us that know the back story of Chris Hero, but unknown to the common Highland fan, and promply starts a long losing streak. The crowd hasn’t been shown that they should like this guy. Then cool big ass Samoa Joe comes to IWA and immediately starts making Hero his bitch, and the crowd is eating it up.

Back to talking about the Cannon/Hero promo segment. Cannon came out and did this promo as if he were a heel (which in story line he is,) but this crowd in Highland is cheering their heads off for him. Not because he’s Arik Cannon mind you, just because he’s Hero’s opponent. This seemed to set the promo off to a weird start. It set up a Hero vs. Cannon match that I’d be there for, so I was happy.

2. TRIK DAVIS def. CASH FLO (w/ Jim Fannin) via disqualification after Cash repeatedly pulled a beaten Davis up off the canvas after a two count, only to dish out more punishment. As a result of the win, Davis remains on the IWA roster (he had previously stated that if he lost the rematch with Cash, he would leave IWA).

We finally got our rematch for the Chest Purpling that Cash gave Trik a while back, November Highland show I believe. This match pretty much consisted of chops, chops, and more chops from Cash, purpling up Trik’s chest again. There was a really cool spot where Trik got up on Cash’s shoulders in the Electric Chair position on the floor. Cash picked him off his shoulders and crotched him around the ring post. This was right in front of me. I had my first of experience of being legit scared by a wrestler here, because earlier in the match Cash didn’t particularly like one of the disparaging remarks I made towards him and he gave me an evil glare and the “C’mon and get in here motion.” Since he was right there, I was a touch intimidated since I know Cash is a legit tough guy. Alas he did nothing and was just doing some heeling. I don’t get the finish. I think I remember one other time, like late 80s that someone was DQed for repeated pulling up of their opponent. But I still don’t know what the person is disqualified for. But this means Trik is still in IWA and hopefully gets a legit win over Cash sometime.

3. "Sexy" ACE STEEL def. "Barbaric Berzerker" JIMMY JACOBS with the Gory Special neckbreaker.

This match just didn’t seem to have much to it to me. Everyone seems to be getting pretty sick of the Huss gimmick, and unfortunately Jimmy hasn’t adapted his style much to get past it. There’s still many midmatch hussings. I think if he phased them out a bit it’d do wonders for his character. Less is more in this situation. Still do them, but just a few standards. The Camel Clutch huss for a big match. Lay off the swinging neckbreaker huss. I’d just keep the intro hussing and the step on the opponent’s hand and they huss spot. Ace is so awesome, but he was in there with comedy Jimmy so it didn’t seem right with Intense Ace. Although I don’t particularly enjoy him, Jerry Lynn appears to be one of the best guys when wrestling the comedy guys.

4. LACEY def. MsCHIF with the implant DDT to retain the IWA/NWA Midwest Women's Championship.

MsChif still has the crowd behind her, and she played the face here. I don’t think that’s necessarily the best for the MsChif character, but it was great for helping build up Lacey as a good heel champion for all the ladies to be chasing after. Lacey’s iridescent ring gear was pretty swank here. MsChif has the goods on the mat, but when not on the mat it appears she only has 4-5 moves, but they are all over like gangbusters. I’d really like to see some of her Gateway Championship Wrestling work. As rumors are her work there against the guys is pretty good. This might make my opinion of her change to that she isn’t trying to work above the rest of the ladies.

5. MAD MAN PONDO wrestled ABDULLAH THE BUTCHER to a no-contest in a wild, bloody brawl which went all over the Lincoln Center. Late in the match, referee OLLIE THARP was busted open by Abdullah with a fork, which brought referees BRYCE REMSBURG and NIKKAN LEE to the ring to officiate the rest of the match, only for both of them to be attacked as well. The match was ruled a no-contest when neither of the two wrestlers would allow an IWA referee to get anywhere near their battle. It took the entire locker room emptying to try to restore order and pull Pondo and Abdullah apart.

Unfortunately, Abby didn’t get a chance to have a big entrance and ovation since Pondo got him with the stop sign as soon as he entered the arena. The bladed and walked bladed and walked. With Abby doing the blatant in front of everyone vertical blading and Pondo doing blatant in front of everyone horizontal blading. Then Abby goes under the ring and brings out the MGD bottle that was put there before the ladies match. Breaks it on the corner of the ring and jabs it into Pondo’s forehead breaking the glass and making one of the sickest noises I’ve ever heard in my life. Then after the bell rang the first time we took off because the Ted Petty Tickets went on sale during this intermission, and we didn’t want to wait in the line. During the rest of intermission, I went outside to cool off, and met and chatted with Scott Christ and his buddy. He was really cool and I wish I would’ve been a touch more sober, because I was blabbering on about things. Also during the intermission they didn’t sweep up the broken glass that was right in front of us, and is on the same corner that all the wrestlers come out to the ring. You’d think they would, nope.

6. RYUJI ITO def. "Spyder" NATE WEBB to retain the Big Japan Death Match Title following a frog splash off the top rope through a table, with a chair laid across Webb's chest.

Nate came out with a video camera during his entrance, I believe it was the video camera that some people were taping for a Japanese group. Also oh so nicely selling the effects of a brutal deathmatch just twenty minutes earlier Pondo danced on the Merch Table to Teenage Dirtbag as well. Nate was very huggy, and was hugging everyone including making Chicagowrestling.com’s Todd Gerth come give him a hug. Nate told Todd he loves him even if Todd wants him to tone down his style so he doesn’t die. Good little match that didn’t even have many hardcore elements to it at all except for the finish. After the match Ito got on the mic, and nobody could understand him. I thought that he was saying that IWA was nothing compared to Big Japan, and was trash talking. But Nate got on the mic too, and acknowledged that he and everyone didn’t have a clue what he said, but loved him anyway. They hugged and left. I think I misunderstood Ito.

7. "Anarchist" ARIK CANNON def. CHRIS HERO with a handful of tights after roughly 20 minutes of back and forth action, which saw Hero focus on Cannon's arm for the majority of the bout. The Highland crowd was split about 50/50 in terms of their support. After the match, Cannon said that he backed up his words from earlier in the night, and advised Hero not to whine this time about suffering yet another loss.

This match was filled with the Let’s Go Hero/Let’s Go Cannon chants from the beginning. The anti-Hero sentiment is crazy here in Highland. It totally changes the dynamic of the match, and it ruins the match a bit. It’s hard for Cannon to play dick heel when over half the crowd is cheering, and it’s even harder for Hero to play the crowd and make comebacks with half the crowd booing it. I need to see this when not surrounded by fucktards. The bits I remember seem to be that they basically were building up a dynamic for a future match to work off of. Plus the side story of Cannon doing what he says and Hero being left behind in Highland again is a perfect side storyline to keep Hero in the despondent mode until the eventual Samoa Joe vs. Chris Hero rematch.

8. DELIRIOUS def. "The Future" CHRIS SABIN with the Chemical Imbalance II to advance to the second round of the NWA Indiana State Title Tournament.

Sabin came out with the TNA banner which is supposedly a heel move in IWA but was cheered wildly. Fans in Highland love them some Chris Sabin. I just can’t see it. I’ve never gotten the Sabin love. He’s a pretty crisp wrestler, but nothing stands out. Someone explain to me why I should love Chris Sabin. Maybe I just need my eyes opened.

Another intermission, talked to Scott and friend, and Orgy about the comedy show he’s promoting. Everyone check out Totally Tool Wrestling when it comes out. It’s all good and stuff.

9. BRAD BRADLEY & RYAN BOZ def. BJ WHITMER & DANNY DANIELS (w/ Jim Fannin) to retain the IWA World Tag Team Titles when Fannin attempted to toss a chain to Daniels, only for it to wind up in the possession of the opposing team, which led to the pinfall. Daniels expressed his frustration with Fannin on the mic after the match, and challenged Bradley and Boz to a rematch, but without Fannin at ringside. Bradley responded by saying that he and Boz have nothing more to prove since they already have the titles.

Fannin keeps losing his men. Danny’s gone now too. I think BJ and Cash Flo are all he’s got left. This was standard indy tag in the 2000s buy the books. Since Danny’s getting face pops and is soon to turn, he played face in peril. Lots of pin and move breaks when the down man makes a save, putting another man down for the time being. Boz threw a chair at Hat again, and all is right with the world of IWA-MS

10. PETEY WILLIAMS def. "The Next" ALEX SHELLEY (w/ Zach Gowen) to retain the IWA World Heavyweight Title via submission with a Sharpshooter. Williams attempted to hit the Canadian Destroyer (front flip piledriver) at several points during the match, only for Shelley to immediately maneuver his way out of the position before Williams could go for it. During the closing moments of the bout, Gowen attempted to assist Shelley, only to be inadvertently superkicked by Shelley for his trouble, which then left Petey the opening to apply the Sharpshooter for the tap out victory to hold onto the title. After the match, Petey extended his hand to Shelley in a sign of respect, only for Shelley to spit in Williams' face in response.

Zach was all over this match, maybe a little too much. This was a lot of people’s most looked forward to match. Unfortunately a lot of us built it up too much in our heads. The match was quite solid but you know us internet peeps, always expecting too much. It might have been cut short due to time, as immediately afterwards we were pushed out as the ring started to get taken down, like that had to get out of there quick.

On the way home, singing along to Ring Crew Express Theme songs and trying to show people my old apartment, on accident was an enjoyable ending to a good night. Fun times, Random Memories.

Testing out a Theory

Bit Torrent, BitTorrent, Bad Blood, WWE, Anime, download, porn, puro, cinema, television, TV, shows.

Muggs says this should make me get crazy amounts of search engine hits. Let's see how that theory holds up.

As of before this post, I average 8 hits a day.

Also Since Demp (he has a link over there -->, and he's no longer last) has stolen my "Who searched what to get here" gimmick. I will now attempt to outshine him by having way cooler odd searches ending up here. (This was written before I looked at the searches, so I may very well be wrong, who knows? We will after I'm done.)

* dvdvr
* harry caray death
* funniest people pictures hillbilly (should be on Demp's blog Roofles)
* Chicago Ridge Juggalos
* chapelle show screen caps
* iwa mid south highland april 10
* walmart hanes sneakers sarah (my favorite one so far)
* wwe undertaker desire theme used at wrestlemania 20 XX
* Murat Bosporus Interview
* "what's in your netflix queue"
* "A Decade Under The Influence" mp3 downloads
* Ricky reyes Finisher
* "if the south would have won" lyrics

Eh, not that funny, but I gotta steal my gimmick back.

Words shall follow

It's been brought to my attention that I haven't done my world famous recaps of what happened on my fabulous weekend. That's because it was rather low key.

On Friday we went to Nevin's for a fund raiser for a NFP Staci is involved in. Our old fuddy duddy asses didn't stay for the whole thing, but it was good to see Staci and Natalie and everybody again.

Saturday we ran and got some groceries and some cleaning supplies for the Massive Condo Cleaning Project. See if I'm selling the place, I better have the place relatively nice for showings. So we got some heavier duty cleaning supplies than the normal ones. Then we settled in and were lazy asses and watched Terminator 3, Chasing Papi, and maybe something else I can't remember.

Sunday we went to Leona's to spend a $10 gift certificate and found out that they have a nice brunch spread on Sunday's so we overstuffed ourselves and headed on to Lowe's and Home Depot. I was pricing out interior doors, closet doors, and vanities for possible replacement during the MCC Project. I'm currently leaning towards Painting the existing interior doors, and replacing the bedroom's closet doors. But that stance changes daily. Then watched Big Fish and the Six Feet Under Season Premier. I watched more movies this weekend via my cable than ever before I think, Big Fish was the only Netflixed movie we watched. I think it was just a matter of not having any plans and looking to see what movies are actually on more than anything. But it's good to know that I actually watched Starz! and Encore since I pay for them.

Eh Raw wasn't as good as normal, but RawChat was fun due to much discussion of Lita (who's a man) housing Kane's DEMON SEED. Also was cool IMing Phil during the show.

This weekend Friday I have a 21st birthday with one of Sara's summer job coworkers downtown. Then Saturday is the IWA-MS show along with the pre-show meet and greet. I think it's cool that we're doing this because seriously we see the same faces every show, and half of us have no clue who we all are.

Well, I guess I better get back to work now.

Twas another weekend of life I lived

Friday I started my Closet Cleaning Project. I'm finally going through my closet and either a)Getting rid of clothes I won't ever wear again or b) putting away because my fat ass can't fit, but it's nice enought that'd wear if I could again. Didn't get too far into that before Sara came over to watch Win a Date with Tad Hamilton. It was good, a touch better than I thought. But then again I've been all about digging on the cheesy teen movies lately. (Have I mentioned I still love Bring It On) Cooked a little dinner and watched What Not to Wear and bed, pretty much our usual Friday.

Saturday while Sara was at Yoga I finished the Closet Cleaning Project. I ended up with about 5 pairs of pants being kept for future wearing, about half of my closet space opened up, and a stack of clothes that's going bye-bye that if I had it in one pile, (it's all folded) would be easily as tall if not moreso than I am.

Once Sara got back from Yoga we took the top off the Jeep and headed out to Valparaiso, Indiana for my Ten Year High School Reunion. We checked into the hotel. Ran out for something to eat, since the invite said there'd only be appetizers (should have held off there was plenty, and it was nice.) The Reunion itself was fun. Fewer people showed up than I thought would. I'd say around forty or so classmates out of the 193 graduating class. It was good to see and catch up with everyone I talked with. Maybe tonight I'll write up about everyone that was there.

Sunday was my high school's graduation and Staci's brother Shawn was graduating. We wanted to see him and congratulate him, but we checked out at 11am and I was sure that the graduation wouldn't be over til at least 3, so Sara actually got me to go see a movie with her. I so rarely go to the theater (I don't find the price increase worthy of the difference of seeing it on "THE BIG SCREEN") Since she had some free passes we went to see Mean Girls. I was excited because like I said I've been digging the teenage comedies lately, and that the movie is apparently based on where we live. "North Shore High School" in the movie is apparently based on Evanston High School which is like 2 miles from my condo, and Sara hung out in Evanston for most of High School even though she went to Highland Park (Which was movie filming haven in the 80s, in her neighborhood she grew up in, one street West is the "Risky Business house" and one street south is Cameron's house (with Ravine) from Ferris Bueller. There should be a website out there somewhere that talks about Highland Park in the movies, if not someone should make it. I'd like to see it) The movie wasn't as good as I expected it to be, many scenes with Tina Fey made up for that. Then we headed to DeMotte to go to the Davidson house to celebrate Shawn's graduating. We get there and noone is home, so we drive by the high school and see that the cars are starting to leave so the ceremony must have just ended. So we decide to grab something to eat at McDonalds, and give them a chance to get home. So we go back and hang out with them for a while. Then we grab Staci to give her a ride back to Chicago, and do just that. Drop Staci off, get home, watch Sopranos and call it a weekend. I had fun, I got a decent tan settling in from driving around with the top down all weekend.

Thursday, June 03, 2004

Well this was a long time coming.

(Side note why is blogger being stupid about logging in lately?)

The post about the weekend is a little late. Add on to that the fact that it was a long 4-day weekend. ANd this is probably not going to be too detailed.

Friday, got home from work, and pack up and get ready to head to Dad's house. Sara comes home and we ponder taking her Jeep, for a little top down action this weekend, but then remember I'm going to check out my brakes while at Dad's so we take my car. Rather uneventful, and Dad's asleep when we get there so we retire to the bedroom to watch What Not To Wear, and then watch Prom Date on MTV. That Prom Date show took place in Merrillville, Indiana, which is half an hour from where I grew up. That's kinda cool.

Saturday, wake up and head out to Crazy D's for a little breakfast and then head out to said Merrillville because I'm supposed to meet someone out there for a tape trade, so we run out there for a little Indidana shopping action. We head to the mall, since it's a good central location, and putz around until he calls. He calls and we agree to meet at Old Navy, so I picked up some flipflops, and wait for him. I recognize him and it's all good and I'm relieved. (He recognized my picture on my site from IWA shows, so I was hoping it wasn't one of the annoying guys from the show, and he wasn't one of them.) Then Sara decides we should look at furniture mainly chairs for my kitchen table, and a sectional. We hit all the furniture stores, and almost buy a not quite futon/not quite sofabed from Value City Furniture's Memorial Day Tent Sale, the only reason we didn't was because it was sold already. Grab Dinner at Pepe's (Why do I still occasionally go there? So Gross.) And head home to chill with Dad. While waiting for him to get home from work I take off the front tires to my car, so I can check the brakes on my car, they're almost gone so now I know that. Hang out with him on the front porch drinking some beers/ciders/Mike's for a bit, until he's ready for bed. Then Sara and I watch The Cooler. During this time I also was missing the only IWA show I've missed in Highland. I had to pick one of the two shows to go to, back before most of the matches were picked. I picked the Sunday show on the slight thought that there might be a Punk/Hero match. I recently read a Punk Interview that said that was the original plan, which would have been good guessing on my part, but instead I missed THE MOMENT during the Joe/Hero match. Eh, I made my bed I'll lie in it.

Sunday Take Sara back to my house. Not without first stopping at Value City's Memorial Day Tent Sale to see if they have more of those futon/couch/bed things we wanted, and they didn't. Then stopping at Auto Zone to get brakes for me and Wipers for her Wrangler. During this time it starts downpouring now. Fearing the worst for traffic, I decide to get my gas now, and good thing too. The rain was possibly the hardest and densest I've ever driven in, and I thought that had happened to me on the Thursday of my birthday week. Once into Illinois and 94 separated from 80, it was better, to the point where the sun was almost out by the time we stopped in Evanston for lunch. We get to my house, and she starts napping while I just sit around giddy, waiting for the time to come to head to the IWA show. It's sunny and done raining by then. I head out to the show, and as per usual I'm there early. Good thing I brought the new Observer to read. It was hard to not be a fanboy and watch all the wrestlers show up for the show while sitting in my car. I think I may have seen Delirious sans mask. Be the gimmick maaaaan. Put the mask on 5 minutes from the venue Super Dragon style. Phil and Libby showed up and we headed off to Pizza Hut for dinner. Phil brought me the Chikara Kids Eat Free... tape for my birthday, very kind of him. The Pizza Hut has a tv playing Cinderella while we are there so dinner was fun. Then on to the show. Ladies tourney was good, Lacey was great, Mickie was good, Mercedes impressed, Jimmy Jacobs rocked the dope suit. Daizee continues to show me more each time. The Southern tag was incredibly awesome and the six man is awesome as everyone is saying it was. After the show head to Dad's house and Mom is there in preparation for the party the next day. And I finish the Observer and go to bed.

Monday: Dad thinks today is the day we're celebrating His, My Sister's, and my birthday, as well as his retirement. Little did he know we invited a bunch of his friends over and it was just for him. The party was kinda blah for me, since it was all people Dad knows, but I'm glad he had it. Itwas kinda short. Everyone was gone by 6:00. After they left Dad took me to the sandbox for a drink. Then as he went to bed, I decided to watch the IWA April Bloodshowers tape I bought at the show, not realizing it was Monday and Raw was on, oh well.

Tuesday. Dad wants to go up to Merrillville with me to buy me a present. He thought I still wanted the new glucose meter. Somehow Lynda hornswaggled her and the kids coming up to, so they could get groceries, apparently her car is broke. So we head to Super Walmart where Dad finds out that I don't want the Glucose meter, so I start a cart and decide he'll just get me some groceries instead, he was down with that. Afterwards I load up the car and head back home. I putz around the internet reading about the shows of the weekend, and for some reason couldn't get into eternachat even with restarting AIM. I wait for Sara to get home to watch the third LOTR movie. I didn't know she had seen it already, so I skipped watching it with Lynda on Monday for no reason, oh well, then watch Queer Eye, and unfortunately it was back to work for Wednesday. Getting a haircut tonight, and then it's on to the ten year reunion this weekend.

DVDVR

I'm too busy playing DEAN's WDT3THIC game to post about my extended four day weekend. That'll probably happen this evening.
Including my missing the big IWA moment, but getting to see Teh Ladies~!
