Weekend post of goodness

Yeah, so I ended up getting through for Cubs tickets 3 times. I got one ticket for one of the Boston games which I'm selling to Joey because a) I'm not going to a baseball game by myself and b) he's the Boston boy so yeah. I also got some for Larry's birthday, and I'm splitting some tickets with Ben here at the office for one of the Cardinals games.

Then after work I took the El up to Evanston to meet up with Dina for a drink before going to see Sara's students perform Antigone. This year's play was a short one clocking in at just over an hour. It was a good one though. Then afterwards back to Nevin's for more drinks. Nevin's now has all of their waitress' wearing short plaid skirts. I have no problem at all with this new development.

Saturday Sara and I went up to Gurnee to get stuff from Old Navy, we also grabbed some Applebees for lunch. Went back home, and I was right back out of the door becase Ring of Honor is back in town. Head over to Larry's then we run to the city to pick up Wayne and Jesse. Then it's out to Addison for some fun at Dave & Busters. Good times were had but we had to take off (I still have 50 Credits!) to get something to eat before the show. We stop at the little pizza/bar place by the venue again for some pizza chicanary. Come across some guys that came all the way from Fort Wayne for the show. Once all 4 cars were there, we were 10 deep in this little bar. Got our grub on, then asked what their parking situation was for letting us park there during the show. They let us park if we came back for drinks, after the show. We had no problem with that and off to the show. Show was fun, I'll have a review up on ITVR sometime (That sometime is now inthisveryring.com ). Adam expounded on his disaffection at ROH shows over at DVDVR and I agree, I just don't get the loving feel off their shows live that I do at IWA-MS. ROH is better on DVD than live to me in that respect. Thus being, I was having a ball goofing around and partaking in silliness, wackiness, and general douchebaggery. After the show went back to the bar (12 deep now with the Summers' joining in) and had a round. There was some birthday party going on, and there was also Karaoke. So we finally get a book and start looking through it, and Joey notices NKOTB, finds a bunch of us to do it with him. Next thing we know, Joey, Todd, Phil, and myself are doing "Step by Step" by the New Kids. Phil was the lyrical superstar of the performance, hitting the high-pitched Joey MacIntyre parts. Todd brought mad back-up dancing ability. Twas a ball. Larry brought some Lionel Ritchie action to the table with some lovely "Say You, Say Me" Joey rocked some "Copacabana" and said he wanted a Conga Line. He got one, some girls walked past us on the way from the bathroom one was grabbed and followed and dancing in a winding line ensued. I rocked some Bloodhound Gang "Bad Touch" with Phil rocking the chorus for me since I don't like it and then we took off. Twas another good evening with the entire crew.

Sunday Sara and I did a little grocery shopping, made some brownies then made our way to Dina's house for a Mexican Fiesta/Dinner at the new apartment/Oscars gathering. Much fun was had.

Now I'm at work, tired and I have major pain in my thighs that I have no clue how it happened. Ah well, such is life.

Ah Sweet Sweet Virtual Waiting Room

I rearrange my whole desktop.
All programs made a little smaller.
Leaving an opening to see the screen.
Letting me know if I've been accepted.

"Randomly Selected" from the waiting room.
I shall be allowed entry.
Getting Cubs tickets.
Such a hard process.

Anxious and full of spunk.
Hoping I get in...
I want to see Boston.
Damn they're popular again.

I'd also like to see Houston.
St. Louis is always a rivalry game.
August 27 is also wanted.
Larry wants to celebrate the birthday.

As a kid Cross Town Classic,
was the game to be.
Two thousand and five.
I still think the same.

All these thoughts whilst
not even in.
I've been in the waiting room,
But can't get in until Ten

Lookie at this...

Taken from Jesse who took it from DVDVR who took it from a suburban paper

Chicago, Illinois will host Wrestlemania 22 in April 2006, according
to an article in Illinois newspaper The Des Plaines Journal. An
official announcement will be made this Friday to the local media,
according to the newspaper, which cites a press release from city
officials.
The show will be held at the Allstate Arena, which features a capacity
of close to 20,000 fans. Two previous Wrestlemania events were held in
the venue (back when it was known as the Rosemont Horizon prior to a
1999 renovation), a portion of Wrestlemania 2 highlighted by a WWF vs.
NFL Battle Royal and Wrestlemania 13 which featured the historic Bret
Hart vs. Steve Austin bout that ended up sparking Austin's career and
being Hart's final Wrestlemania appearance.

They've been doing venues WAAAAY bigger than Allstate for the past couple years, but hey Axxess always looked fun, so Yay!

Reviews

Reading Wacy's ROH Show review (http://daverules.blogspot.com/)
It reminded me that I did one recently over at ITVR (http://inthisveryring.com/). Go read my review of the last Highland show now, I recommend reading it AFTER you read my Royal Rumble review. You should read the Rumble review first to understand my new reviewing style then the IWA show review will make more sense.

Yeah! Do it!

Umm busy weekend coming up, Friday is Sara's student's play, Saturday is a doubleheader of MSPW and ROH goodness, Sunday is dinner at D's new apartment.
Fun abounds!

Weekend HOTTNESS

So this weekend was pretty calm.

Friday night I rested at home and finally shook the cold that had been lingering for a few weeks. Might have watched Starsky & Hutch, I know we watched it sometime recently.

Saturday was grocery shopping, Old Navy, Menards, WalMart, etc. We went to El Barrio for dinner, it was OK, nothing too special, standard Mexican fare. Partook in the greatest of all desserts, Portillo's Chocolate Cake Shakes. Then went home to watch Mulholland Drive. I didn't get it. I don't think anyone gets it.

Sunday was more running around. Used the grill for the first time, made some delightful NY Strip Steaks. Then ran to Kristoff's for the Royal Rumble.

I told ya the weekend was pretty calm. So to make up for it enjoy some pictures of me modeling the new ITVR shirts. I'm HOTT~!
